Their beliefs and endeavours proved correct and the client base increased 10-fold within the first 18 months.

During this time other services were added such as dedicated van deliveries, Exhibition stand set-up and breakdown and International/Worldwide couriers.

Trading continued to increase through recommendation only as no advertising campaign had even been talked about let alone commenced. This coupled with their hard work, honest approach and ethical manner proved to be a service desired by many of their new and existing clients.

After repeated requests from their clients further services were added, namely storage and "pick and pack" operations.

This pick and pack service was originally designed exclusively for the pharmaceutical clients wherein we would accept delivery of client goods, store, pick and pack when requested and distribute to their nationwide representatives.

This service was then extended to encompass the Pharmaceutical clients' conferences held both in Western Europe and the U.K. It proved to be a very demanding additional service as it entailed collection of materials and delivering to conference venues usually on very tight schedules and deadlines.

Again through hard work, honesty and recommendation this service was extended to the cosmetic, print and food industry clients.

Over the years not only has turnover has increased but also staff levels and premises and you will be pleased to know that the "office" under the stairs now houses the usually array of household goods - although the shelf still exists!

In October 2002 John and Lucy's sons invested a "vast" amount of money into the business and Advance Movement Services became Advance Movement Services Ltd.

We now employ a huge number of staff - currently 9! and occupy approximately 9000 square feet of enclosed warehousing/office together with approximately 20,000 square feet of external yard storage.

In late December 2006, Steve decided to leave the company and branch out in a new direction, however, with Adrian now responsible for the company and in keeping with a forward looking business a large sum of money was invested to specifically increase staff numbers (to accommodate the new business) and expand the existing services offered and furthermore increase the efficiency for both us and our clients.

We have implemented a flexible but much more defined structure and work ethic which enables us to carry out works outside of the normal office hours.

Both John and Lucy, you will be pleased to know HAVE FINALLY RETIRED although they do still pop in occasionally and still want to emphasise the point to THANK everyone  of the people that have supported them over the years – The vast majority of whom are to this day still clients but above all their friends.
